[Frisco Trip] Sleeping dog:

In US, its fairly rare to see dogs sleeping on a walkway. In India, I remember, we had stray dogs sleeping right inside the IIT clasrooms -> even when the class was going on. Peaceful Co-existence :)

[Frisco Trip] Horse cart on rail track:

This particular street near the fisherman wharf/pier 39 area is so full of life! Easily the high point of the Frisco Trip.

[Frisco Trip] Zaka:

Zaka was trying to check whether he can go through this parking signpost without angling himself. Seems he failed by a huge margin :)

This picture also reminds me of ancient roman death machines.

Notice the slope of the street - San Francisco is full of streets much steeper than this one.

Somehow I prefer street pictures in Black and White. 45 degrees tilt enhances the effect of this photograph which has distinct horizontal and vertical lines

I like the colors, textures and forms in this picture. The sky looks rather bland though

Usually - the evening sky/ocean pictures look best if the focus is only on one or two forms. However this picture doesnt look too crowded - there seems to be some overall harmony in position and motion of these four dudes

[Frisco Trip] Fisherman:

One of those soothing pictures. (Composition 101: Third's rule - place the subject at roughly a third from the edge - farther from the edge which the subject is facing or moving in the direction of)

[Frisco Trip] Alcatraz

One of the most famos landmarks of San Fransico, Alcatraz island used to be an infamos maximum securit federal prison till 1960's. We kudnt take the ferry to the islands as it was already booked for July 4th weekend

This kid, barely taller than the cart is trying to push it. I like blue faces :)

All sorts of weird things keep happening on Pier 39.

[Frisco Trip] People Walking:

If you notice, the camera's line of sight was much lower than the normal line of sight of eye of an standing adult (Almost as if a 4 year old took this picture) I have realised that photographs become interesting if they look slightly different from the typical images people have in their mind. In future, I will experiment more with unusual angles.

[Frisco Trip] Man of the bench:

I took this picture while eating in an amazing French crepe place. I really wish I lived in a place where I kud just walk on Saturday mornings to such breakfast places.

These reminded me of those very crowded "footpaths" in Bombay with shops on both the sides

[Frisco Trip] Old man and graffiti:

One of my favorite pics from Frisco trip (actually kwatra clicked it). I initially thought of cropping the old lady out and just focus on the old man - but later changed my mind. The lady adds a casual contrast to the scene - which otherwise would have almost looked staged.

[Frisco Trip] Tambay in deep thought:

I added some greeniness and graininess to enhance the effects. Increased the shadow to remove the details from Tambay's profile (silhouette). Notice the footsteps.

Hallway :

Its amazing how the world transforms once you are behind a camera - you observe things with a completely different perspective

This is the view I get whenever I get out of my apartment. Now I find the view intriguing.

Cola-ge :

I felt like updating my blog - but was too lazy to go out to find any interesting subject. A coke can and box were of great help as they provided the raw material for an interesting abstract composition

Kids at the Fountain :

Two cute Kids overlooking the fountain at the Sculpture garden on a bright sunny day. One of those feel good photographs.

Rusen :

Rusen at Georgetown waterfront. I just wanted to have this snap here as a placeholder - will replace with a better photograph of her's fairly soon

Bicyle n Car :

Three different layers of road with one vehicle on each of them. I still feel that the shot could have been more interesting if I had shown some more patience. Water color effect suits this composition
